The Story of Home

Home is really where the heart is. There’s nothing more true. Home isn’t a building or a place, home is in the heart and your connections with those you love. This could not be more prevalent during my shoot with this beautiful family. Two girls and one adoring mother. They played, laughed and loved. Capturing short films of real moments makes my heart sing. It’s these moments of making memories that leave a loving mark on our children forever. They remember you. The loving cuddles, taking time to be interested in their thoughts and feelings. Nurturing children and being their life guides, truly is the most magical gift that life can bestow on us.

“Amy came in and somehow managed to capture the magic amongst the chaos and for that I’m forever grateful. I have always loved looking at old family photos and home videos growing up and that same nostalgic feeling is exactly the same feeling I got seeing what Amy captured of us. Seeing her finished work brought me to tears. Life is so fleeting and precious and it’s these everyday moments that are the memories I will treasure forever. These photos I will turn to in years to come and pour many tears over when I’m old I’m sure. And for my girls to look back on with fondness. Amy’s gift is incredible. She captures more than just an image. Her work isn’t a collection of static images, It’s dynamic! It doesn’t just encapsulate beauty but evokes emotion. You can feel the movement, you can hear the laughter, you can sense the love in every shot. We were so safe trusting Amy with these intimate moments. She made us feel so relaxed to just be ourselves. To breastfeed, to wrangle a toddler, to play, to read books together, to cook, to cuddle. We just loved having her over as a welcomed guest in our home and soon forgot that she was documenting our normal everyday life and because of that there is nothing too posed about any of them. The end result is natural, genuine, true to life, magical and will be treasured for generations.” Rose Grae
